Our Mission
Our mission is to encourage lifelong choral singing, by creating a space where singers of all ages and backgrounds can collaborate, grow, and perform together. Colorado Treble Festival participants receive music to three treble choral pieces in advance. On Festival day, we will gather for a day-long workshop of these songs, followed by a collaborative concert.
At CTF 2026, we hope to exceed our 2025 registration of 110 singers!
Adams 12 Five Star Participants
The Colorado Treble Festival is proud to serve Adams 12 Five Star High School Treble Singers. Students in Adams 12 will have the opportunity to sing alongside singers from collegiate and community choruses, learning challenging repertoire with developed treble voices on either side of them. This educational opportunity gives students a chance to become plugged into Colorado’s thriving choral community and encourages them to continue singing in college and beyond.

Registration Details
The registration fee for Adams 12 Five Star students is $25 which will provide singers with a t-shirt, pencil, part tracks, and lunch.

Registration closes April 1st.
T-shirts must be ordered before March 14th to guarantee size.
Festival t-shirts are to be worn during the event and the culminating concert, paired with jeans or black pants and comfortable shoes. The lunch provided can accommodate dietary needs as requested. Participants are asked to bring their sheet music, a black 3-ring binder or choir folder and a water bottle.

Workshop
Our morning and afternoon workshop will focus on improving choral techniques and perfecting three festival collaboration pieces. You'll have the opportunity to bond with like-minded treble singers and take your skills to the next level.
Festival Scholarships
We proudly offer scholarships for individuals who may not be able to afford attendance. Our goal is to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent passionate attendees from singing. Please fill out the scholarship application form below to register or consider donating a registration if you are able.
Festival Concert
The festival will conclude with a pay-what-you-can public concert featuring Safonia, selections from local high school and adult treble groups, and a collaborative performance showcasing all festival participants. This year, we are excited to announce that all performance pieces will highlight text and the unique way that poetry can be elevated through choral music. The concert will be held at 5:00pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Mountain Range High School, 12500 Huron St, Westminster, CO 80234.
Guest Performing Choirs
We are thrilled to invite your Adams 12 Five Star Treble Choir or group to perform 1 piece in the 2026 Colorado Treble Festival!
All singers in the guest choir must also participate in the entire day of the festival. While you are welcome to bring a small group from your choir, all that perform at the Festival Concert must attend the full day of workshops and perform the three festival pieces along with their choir selections.
All singers are required to wear a festival shirt during the day and concert.
Guest choir performance pieces must feature songs highlighting text.
Guest choirs will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. To be considered, please complete the short application form below.

Preparation
No formal music training is required to participate—just a love for singing. Prior preparation is not mandatory, but recommended. Music and part tracks for the collaboration pieces will be provided in advance for those who wish to familiarize themselves with the music.
FAQ
What if I don't sing in a choir or I haven't sung in a choir in a really long time?
No previous experience is required. All that we require is a love for singing!
How will I know which voice part I will sing in the festival?
Upon registration, you will choose your 1st and 2nd choice voice part (SSAA). We will aim for everyone to sing their first-choice part, but we'll update your director on voicing adjustments needed for a balanced chorus.
What if I don't know which voice part I should choose on the registration form?
Choose "no preference" on the registration form.
What do I need to bring on the day of the festival?
Bring your sheet music, a water bottle, and a black binder for your music. If you use an electronic device, ensure it's in a black case.
Christa Fredrickson
Artistic Director
Christa Fredrickson “Freddy” (she/her) is the Choral Director of Safonia and the Founder and Artistic Director of the Colorado Treble Festival. She is a Professor of Music and Theatre at New Mexico State University and also teaches musical theatre and English literature in Westminster, Colorado. Her work spans high school, collegiate, and community ensembles, with performances in the United States, Mexico, Austria, and at Carnegie Hall. Blending her backgrounds in classical music, theatre, and literature, she approaches choral music through the lens of storytelling, text, and emotional expression.
Kelli Horton
Pianist
Kelli Horton (she/her) is a collaborative pianist and educator based in Denver. She holds a Master’s Degree in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Pedagogy from Columbus State University. Her work as a performer and teaching artist has taken her throughout the United States and abroad, with collaborations spanning orchestral, choral, and theatrical settings—including performances with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Savannah Philharmonic, and ensembles across India, Ireland, and England.
Horton is the founder and director of KH Piano Academy in Denver and has taught at institutions including USC, Bennington College, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Savannah Arts Academy. Her current work emphasizes mindful movement at the piano and the promotion of music by women and underrepresented composers.
